Why we must prevent a Con – Con

We must prevent a constitutional because there is no way to prevent a runaway convention

Why is a Con – Con dangerous?

A Constitutional Convention is dangerous because it can literally throw out the present Constitution and our BILL OF RIGHTS. That includes our 2nd Amendment, the right to keep and bear arms. We all know that the globalist are after our Bill of Rights.

Many have tried for years to hold a Con-Con to take away our founding documents. They already have a Constitution for the New States of America, waiting to be put in place. No Bill of Rights! No 2nd Amendment! No property rights!

I invite you to do a search of the web for “New States of America” and see for yourself. We worked very hard a couple of years ago to defeat several bills calling for a Con – Con and were successful here in Oklahoma. However, those who want to rewrite our constitution will never give up and we should never stop working to defeat them.

OCPAC, Legislation and other things we need to know

THANKS TO ACTIVISM, LEGISLATION MOVING ALONG

First, a huge thanks to so many who have made calls, sent e-mails and or have gone to the Capitol to do some personal lobbying. We also had a really good turn-out last Tuesday for the “Nullification Rally”. The Oklahoman reported the crowd to be about 300 which is very good as we activists have to take time off to go and petition our lawmakers for the causes for which we care about. Legislation which deals with nullifying Obamacare, American Laws for American Courts, opposing Agenda 21, 2nd Amendment issues and many other good pieces of legislation have passed out of the House and are now over in the Senate for consideration and vice/versa. There will be need for more activism during the next leg of the process, I will try to let folks know on some of that legislation. Again, the reason to receive e-mails from groups like ROPE, OK2A, Oklahomans for Life, OK-SAFE, The John Birch Society, Oklahoma Liberty and others is that they will do a better job of informing on their particular issues than I have the time to do. If we all determine to work together with the limited time and resources we have as we are trying to make a living and raise our families, we can continue to move Oklahoma toward a more conservative state following nearly a hundred years of liberal Democrat rule.

Of course it isn’t just liberal Democrat rule, because far too many of the Republican lawmakers aren’t much better than the Democrats. During the presidential elections of last year a new term popped up to describe many who supported President Obama and others of his ilk. The term is “low information voters” which is a really good description of a certain percentage of those going to the polls. However, in all my dealings with politicians, the term “low information lawmakers” is also appropriate to describe many who dwell in the halls of the marble pork pen at 23rd and Lincoln.

One of the more important factors to determine the quality of a lawmaker is just how much time and effort a lawmaker is willing to invest in reading and or attending conferences and seminars to expose themselves to information from both sides of the many issues for which they will make decisions. If they fail to put out the effort, they will probably be nothing more than a “low information lawmaker” and an easy target for the multitudes of highly paid lobbyists representing the many special interests that want to get their hands on as much taxpayer funds as possible, or receive the special opportunities afforded to them by government.

The later are the kind of “low information” Republican lawmakers we need to replace with those who have developed a consistent, conservative ideology to guide them as they make laws that affect all of us in the State of Oklahoma. Making those changes, providing information to lawmakers and candidates is what we do at OCPAC.
Becoming a dues paying member makes those changes possible. Please consider joining OCPAC at this time if you have not done so for this year.

I look forward to seeing everyone this Wednesday.

Oklahoma schools and students will be in a “perpetual state of testing”

Oklahoma schools and students will be in a “perpetual state of testing” when new K-12 standardized testing begins in 2014-15, educators say.

Comment from a former teacher :Jenni White, a former teacher and president of Restore Oklahoma Public Education, said the addition of these new assessments will further chip away at the time teachers have to actually teach students.

What Can You Do About The Common Core in Oklahoma?

By now you probably know that Glenn Beck has become aware of the Common Core State Standards and he – along with Michelle Malkin – are exposing this system for the liberty sucking vacuum it is.

If you don’t know, I began my career in activism as the Education Coordinator for the OKC912Project. Restore Oklahoma Public Education (ROPE) was spun out of the OKC912Project when another 912 member at the time, Julie McKenzie and I realized that one of the reasons Barrack Obama was elected was due to the fact that we are not educating children in our public schools on the Constitution or basic government.

Since that time (2009), ROPE has looked into testing, administration, funding – many issues involving the public school. Common Core is, sadly, just one cog in the machine of big government education that is immediately threatening to micromanage public schools – and good teachers – out of existence.

If you are not aware of ROPE, please click on any of the links at the bottom of this email to take you to our website, blog, Twitter or Facebook page. Here you will find TONS of information on the Common Core and yes, it is bad.

I am attaching a copy of the blog I wrote about why Mary Fallin killed our bill to study the COSTS of the Common Core – an initiative put into law by a small group of legislators BEFORE the standards were even available to read, simply to get stimulus funds for our state offered through the Race to the Top grant program. Yes, we have untested, unexamined standards and associated tests that are UNFUNDED MANDATES to schools. In fact, recent research shows that Common Core could cost Oklahoma tax payers as much as 250 million dollars.

Here’s what you can do to help:

Friday, March 22 at 6:30, the OKC912Project has the Safari room (their usual room) at H&H Shooting Sports reserved. At that time, Danna Foreman, Lynn Habluetzel and Julia Seay (three of ROPE’s active board members) will join me in presenting Glenn Beck’s program on the Common Core, shown Thursday, March 14th. We will give you more information on the initiative and be available to answer any questions you might have.

Wednesday, March 27 at noon in the Supreme Court Hallway on the second floor of our state Capitol, ROPE will have a rally against the Common Core called, “Common Core is NOT OK!” Please join us. The ONLY way to pressure our Governor and State Superintendent into stopping the Common Core in Oklahoma will be sheer numbers of grassroots activists willing to stand up and say – NO! We will have a number of speakers, including Paul Blair and Representative Gus Blackwell, a special announcement and hopefully, a nationally-known speaker! After the rally, you will be asked to visit your legislator and tell them, “Common Core is NOT OK!”

Thursday, March 28th, is the state school board meeting. We would like anyone who can, to appear in front of the board at the end of the meeting to make a public comment on the Common Core. It is sad, but factual, that Superintendent Barresi has not ever fully discussed the Common Core with state board members who are woefully unaware of the pitfalls and facts associated with the Common Core.

We will provide more information on all these developments as we work them out. If you wish to be on ROPE’s email list, please see our webpage – http://www.RestoreOkPublicEducation.com and put your email address in the box in the upper left hand side of the page.

Thank you for your concern about the children in Oklahoma public schools!

God bless,
Jenni White

NGA, FEE, CCSSO = A Bunch of BS For OK

Today was a banner day in Oklahoma. Today was the day the Speaker of the House of Representatives – the new, up-and-coming conservative Speaker who will be speaking at CPAC next week because he’s so conservative – killed the Common Core State Standards Cost Task Force bill authored by Gus Blackwell (HB1907).

HB1907 passed out of the General Government committee unanimously, February 28th. It was to go to the Calendar Committee (newly organized by Speaker Shannon…why would we want to have accountability to the taxpayers for what gets on the House calendar held by ONE person? Why shouldn’t we spread that accountability over a total of 18 people?) for a vote on whether or not it would be heard on the floor of the House. That week, we were told by Calendar Committee Chair, Representative Pam Peterson, that Speaker Shannon was holding all Task Force bills until other bills could be heard.

Fortuitously, directly after that meeting, we saw Representative Shannon walking in the hall. I practically galloped up next to him, and asked him to give HB1907 to the Calendar Committee because the Common Core had been put into law before the standards were even written, so of course there had never been a study done on the costs of the initiative. He looked at us and said, “I don’t think you’ll have any problems with that bill” before he walked off saying, “Now don’t have a bunch of your people calling, asking me to put it on the Calendar. We’ll get there.”

We thought this was great news and prepared to move on to lobbying House members on our bill HB1989 to protect student privacy by preventing certain types of public school data collection and sharing (this passed out of the House unanimously March 11).

I was at “school” with my children today (Classical Conversations home school families meet once a week altogether in one place to review our lessons) when I got a frenetic phone call from Lynn. She told me she and Danna and Julia (all at the Capitol) had gone to check on the status of HB1907 and found that it would NOT leave Speaker Shannon’s office. Speaker Shannon had killed the bill – the bill ROPE has been working on for THREE LONG YEARS – the bill developed out of our four year study on the Common Core!

Details were hard to get via phone and email, but apparently Speaker Shannon was told EARLY ON in the session BY THE GOVERNOR NOT to HEAR any Common Core bills and he was going to do exactly that.

Let these thoughts sink in:
• The Governor of the reddest state in the union, tells the Speaker NOT to hear a bill put forward by four housewives and mothers – simple TAXPAYERS, not lobbyists or organizations who are paid to see that bills pass or fail.
• The newly-minted Speaker tells self-same housewives, mothers and taxpayers he doesn’t see a problem with getting their bill to the floor! Why? Apparently he knew all along he wasn’t going to put the bill on the floor of the House for a vote.
• The Governor is AFRAID for Common Core bills to be heard. Why?
Let’s think about this a bit more:

Governor Fallin is the Vice-Chair of the National Governor’s Association. So what? Well, the NGA is a PRIVATE membership organization not subject to the Open Meetings Act that has PUSHED THE COMMON CORE STATE STANDARDS FROM THE BEGINNING! In fact, the NGA and the Council of Chief State School Officers are the two organizations that have pushed the Common Core State Standards down to the states! Look in the upper right hand corner of the CCSS home page to see BOTH their logos! Their list of Corporate Sponsors is ENORMOUS and contains most of the organizations supplying funding for the Common Core initiative.

Janet Barresi is a member of the CCSSO, a private membership organization – like the NGA – that has no oversight nor accountability to taxpayers for the programs they work with State Superintendents to implement in states. CCSSO partners with Bill Gates Foundation, Pearson, ACT, K12 (currently embroiled in a lawsuit for overselling investors on student achievement to inflate their stock prices) and many others – again many private donors to the Common Core initiative.

In addition, as we have reported previously a number of times, Superintendent Barresi is a member of Jeb Bush’s Foundation for Excellence in Education (FEE), Chiefs for Change program. The FEE is soundly in the corner of having the federal government administrating LOCAL education – very small government stuff (snark). In addition, FEE and the Chiefs have long touted the Common Core State Standards. Jeb Bush and the FEE have written numerous education policy initiatives here in Oklahoma as evidenced by a paper trail of emails turned over via an FOI request made by the Washington Post, which begs the question as to why Oklahoma taxpayers are paying for Florida education reforms – that don’t work even in Florida??? Why are we paying a Superintendent to merely fire off emails to the FEE to get them to write Oklahoma education policy?

Let’s sum up:
• Most likely, Governor Fallin will NOT hear Common Core bills because she is afraid that after three years of lobbying, educating and studying we have enough votes to get a repeal of the Standards all the way to her desk. Having a Common Core ‘nullification’ bill pass the House and Senate in Oklahoma would no doubt cause some real pain for the Governor in her role as Vice Chair of the NGA – one of the two main supporters of the Common Core. The only plausible explanation here is that she MUST be more concerned about the future of her political career and her standing in the NGA than she is about Oklahoma children and taxpayers.
• Janet Barresi will not allow the Common Core to even be discussed at state board meetings let alone come to the floor of the House or Senate for a vote most probably because she couldn’t DARE go against the FEE! Why would she want to? She has the fabulous, “I’m open to running for president so I can spread more of my BIG GOVERNMENT Republican Statism over the whole of America” Jeb Bush, also a speaker at CPAC this year in her hip pocket (or is it the other way around?)! In addition, Dr. Barresi has lucrative contracts with Pearson and other Common Core addicts/vendors. If they’ve been taking her to dinner, what else have they been doing?

Needless to say, both the Governor and the State Superintendent are FULLY PERSONALLY INVESTED IN THE COMMON CORE STATE STANDARDS. What do you suppose the chances are of either of them hearing the clamoring of the grassroots activists, taxpayers, parents and others against the Common Core when all they can hear is the din of their burgeoning political careers surging in their ears?

This must stop. Either Janet and Mary quit playing Hear No Common Core, See No Common Core, Speak no Common Core, or we piddly little taxpayers who are paying to advance their political careers find them primary candidates from another more altruistic branch of the monkey family.

ADDENDUM: Representative Blackwell was told that if HB1907 was kept alive and passed the Senate and the House, the Governor would veto it. He was then offered an interim study to pull the bill. He would be in control of the interim study which would NOT occur in the the Common Education Committee and be allowed to continue over a number of days – in order to collect as much information as possible. Representative Blackwell is a good man and his intentions are pure. We are lucky to have him here in Oklahoma. He took the interim study option, although we here at ROPE can’t help but wonder what it would have done to the Governor’s grassroots political capital to veto a bill to examine SPENDING in Oklahoma in the face of our national debt and economy. It would have been nice to get all the legislators on record for their vote on the issue as well, but since Senate Education Committee Chair, Senator John Ford has consistently said he would NEVER hear a bill against the Common Core, it would have been quite the fight to even get it onto the Senate floor. Makes you wonder doesn’t it? What exactly is the meaning of REPRESENTATIVE government?

The Fight now begins in the OK Senate

Thank you all so much for all your efforts. I have heard from many of you and I know that we have really made a difference in the Oklahoma House this year!!!!! Specifically, the bills having to do with blocking Agenda 21 and nullifying Obamacare both passed the House. I understand that the votes in the Senate will not take place next week, but probably the week of March 25. We will need to change our focus and start calling and emailing the Senate in preparation for the voting there. I’ll be sending you information as I get it. Hoorah!
JOB WELL DONE!!!!!
FYI – You can watch the state legislative proceedings live. I was able to listen to Sally Kern speaking live. When I find out a good link to the State Senate and the calendar is set, I’ll let you know.

Here are some of the reports I’ve received.

I’ve been listening for the last few hours and I have not heard it come up yet. I do fall asleep sometimes.
Dan Fischer – excellent speech
Sally Kern – Read from Martin Luther Kind’s Birmingham jail letter. Brilliant move!
Mike Reynolds – made a great point about swearing to uphold the Constitution
Mike Ritze – Gave simple answers based on Oklahoma and US Constitutions in defense of HB 1021
Those were the standouts to me. Go to okhouse.gov for their e-mail addresses. You can also watch archived debate videos at the same place.

Both the anti-Agenda21 and anti-Obamacare bills passed today on the Oklahoma House floor…

This was surely only possible because of the path the Lord has provided. The path being years of training citizens to become activists, teaching our elected officials on the true nature of the problems in America, and prayer. Minds were opened and hearts were moved.

Please take a moment and encourage your members with this news.

Tonight the media will make some money at the expense of liberty.

Tomorrow we move on to the State Senate.

Strategic Activism works …
Take care

More then ever we need the church to take a stand…..

There is hope, we have been fighting for 40 years, the tide on pro-life is turning in our favor despite the control of media, govt, and education toward a pro-abortion view. We are loosing on gay marriage, euthanasia and still have a long way to go. But the article is right and hits the nail on the head repeatedly—It is as the article states below “Persistence is Key”.
Imagine what could be accomplished if the only the church from pulpits across the country would have the courage and will to teach and preach and educate the people in the pews from the pulpit on these issues on a regular basis……!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Silence leads to the implication of consent which begets more silence which promotes the opposing view.
Persistence is Key — in Marriage as in Life
March 12th, 2013 http://www.ruthblog.org/2013/03/12/persistence-is-key-in-marriage-as-in-life/
by Stella Morabito, a Washington, DC-based writer who focuses on issues of society, culture and education. She has published several op-eds on marriage and gender issues in the Washington Examiner and has testified against genderless marriage before the Maryland Legislature in Annapolis. In her past work as an intelligence analyst, she specialized in Russian and Soviet politics, ideology and media.
Do you know your neighbor’s or co-worker’s or classmate’s real opinions about genderless marriage? Or do you simply know what they say they believe? Or, do you – and they — tend neither to ask nor to tell on such hot button topics?
If the latter, this is likely due in part to the appearance that genderless marriage has gained widespread political support over the past decade. But we should take note that the drift towards genderless marriage has had nothing to do with real debate. It is a trend that was manufactured primarily through the dictates of political correctness and suppression of dissent.
The key question for supporters of traditional marriage is how to undo the damage to our social infrastructure in the face of this suppression. The good news is that we do have a template for such an effort: one of the greatest ironies today is that the pro-life position is winning on the public opinion front just as supporters of genderless marriage are claiming victory.
Persistence is always key.
Consider the recent cover of Time Magazine: in the 40 years since Roe v. Wade, American public opinion has been shifting decisively in favor of life.
How did this happen? After all, the odds were stacked against any resurgence of a pro-life ethic after the 1973 Supreme Court voted 7-2 in favor of abortion. The “pro-choice” position has since seemed firmly entrenched, repeatedly preached by Hollywood, academia, the mainstream media. And don’t forget what they trumpeted about the opinion of youth: irreversible, the wave of the future.
But we cannot forget that the fear of ostracism is a very powerful motivator, especially for youth. It is an especially powerful means of silencing expression and driving public opinion. Silence leads to the implication of consent which begets more silence which promotes the opposing view.
I know, because I lived it. When I was in college, I sensed that people often assumed I was “pro-choice,” even though the idea really didn’t set well with me. Those who were in favor of abortion were never shy about saying so. Those arguing against paid a high price socially. I regretfully took the low road by avoiding the topic, mostly remaining silent when it came up. In other words, I implied consent.
When we decide to withhold our views – for whatever reason – it affects our perceptions of what others believe and their perceptions of what we believe. Those perceptions take on a reality of their own.
If enough individuals allow their views to be suppressed, a sense of marginalization and isolation inevitably sets in. I hit a point at which I felt that my pro-life views were in a distinct minority and that most people, especially anyone who seemed well connected socially, must be “pro-choice,” whether they said so or not.
Then, one day in my professional life a co-worker, who was following news about the Supreme Court’s Webster decision, said with some angst “abortion is such a sad and terrible thing.” She had no idea where I stood, and she didn’t care. I was astonished to hear this from someone I would have otherwise assumed was on the other side. Her willingness to speak from her heart in turn heartened and emboldened me. It had an enormous effect on my thinking and my life.
There are many different reasons for the turnaround on abortion. Those on both sides have been exposed to sonograms with powerful images of their own unborn children. Most rational beings tend to mellow over time, especially after the stridency of radical feminism wears thin, along with the culture’s tiresome celebration of mechanical sex.
But fundamentally, public opinion shifted because enough truth-loving people refused to remain silent and were diligent even in the face of marginalization and demonization by society.
Powerful voices — seemingly under the surface since 1973 — refused to be silent about the cruelties and injustices of abortion. A host of organizations were founded to keep the issue alive and to argue, to persuade, and to change hearts and minds. They include Jim McFadden’s premier journal, The Human Life Review; thousands of crisis pregnancy centers attending to the needs of unmarried pregnant women; and Mary Cunningham Agee’s Nurturing Network that provides compassionate support to pregnant single professional women and college students. Many more organizations played key roles.
In the face of seemingly unstoppable forces supporting genderless marriage, we must again find the courage to stand up and be heard, and regroup our efforts to revive the family. Sure, we will be resisted and marginalized by anti-family forces. But as the damage from genderless marriage sets in, pro-marriage organizations – following the lead of the National Organization for Marriage and The Ruth Institute — will mushroom and work in the same manner as pro-life forces. They will bring forth persuasive arguments in the war of ideas, show compassion to the afflicted, and bring hope to the alienated.
But positive change in the marriage culture will come a lot more quickly if increasing numbers of individuals choose to reach out and express their opinions to others they know in daily life. Just a word of self-identification to a neighbor, a co-worker, or a classmate has ripple effects we cannot predict.
When you speak out in favor of marriage and life, you are building safe harbors for more like-minded people to express their beliefs, culminating in a cascade of truth that shifts public opinion.

40 Years After Roe: Inside North Dakota’s Only Abortion Clinic
Jan. 22, 2013
Pro-life activists have pursued a multi-pronged strategy to reduce the number of abortion providers in the U.S. and make it more difficult and more expensive for women to access the procedure. In 2008, there were 38% fewer abortion providers in the U.S. than in 1982.
Today, there are four states that have just a single surgical abortion provider: North Dakota, South Dakota, Arkansas and Mississippi.

Losing Ever Since Roe? — TIME Sounds the Siren for Abortion Rights
Monday, January 7, 2013 http://www.albertmohler.com/2013/01/07/losing-ever-since-roe-time-sounds-the-siren-for-abortion-rights/

Roe actually awakened and called into existence a vast pro-life movement that did not exist before the decision was handed down. With few notable exceptions, American evangelicals were willing for abortion to be marginalized as a Roman Catholic issue. Roe changed that. The horror of abortion on demand finally seared the evangelical conscience. In every presidential election since Roe v. Wade, abortion has been a central issue — and never more so than in the 2012 election. The two party platforms of 2012 had diametrically opposed statements on abortion. That represented a division far deeper than existed in 1973.

Now, with the 40th anniversary of Roe, TIME magazine is sounding the siren for abortion rights with a cover story that warns: “40 Years Ago, Abortion-Rights Activists Won an Epic Victory with Roe v. Wade. They’ve Been Losing Ever Since.” Really?

The article, written by Kate Pickert, points to the profound fact that, in at least some parts of the country, an abortion is harder than ever to obtain. She reports that 24 states have adopted more than 90 new restrictions on abortion since 2010

Shocking Time Magazine Cover: After 40 Years, Abortion Activists Losing
by Steven Ertelt http://www.lifenews.com/2013/01/03/shocking-time-magazine-cover-after-40-years-abortion-activists-losing/
The mainstream media will get around to covering abortion this month as the nation marks 40 years of legalized abortion for any reason throughout pregnancy via Roe v Wade. Time magazine has released its issue, which comes to a shocking conclusion.
The cover article makes the case that the pro-abortion side is losing the abortion debate, saying, “40 Years Ago, Abortion Rights Activists Won an Epic Victory With Roe v. Wade. They’ve been losing ever since.”
The article makes the pro-abortion case that, while abortion is still legal, it is increasingly difficult to access thanks to the closing of so many abortion clinics and pro-life laws that help women by giving them additional information and alternatives.
The magazine also contains an article from Emily Buchanan of the pro-life women’s group Susan B. Anthony List that rebuts what has become the modern talking point for Planned Parenthood and other abortion defenders — that abortion is about protecting women’s health, some excerpts of which appear below:
From its early beginnings, feminism was a young women’s movement. Susan B. Anthony, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Alice Paul, Charlotte Lozier and so many others began their suffragist work in their 20s. These women — the original feminists — understood that the rights of women cannot be built on the broken backs of unborn children. Anthony called abortion “child murder.” Paul, author of the original 1923 Equal Rights Amendment, said that “abortion is the ultimate exploitation of women.”
So the pro-life movement hasn’t changed the meaning of feminism, as has been suggested. It was the neo-feminists of the 1960s and ’70s who asked women to prize abortion as the pathway to equality.
Pro-life feminism has captivated a new generation of young women who reject the illusion that to be pro-woman is to be pro-choice. Gallup polling showed that among 18-to-29-year-olds, there was a 5% increase in those labeling themselves “pro-life” between 2007–08 and 2009–10.
The past few years have seen the emergence of young leaders like Kristan Hawkins of Students for Life of America, who is responsible for organizing more than 675 pro-life groups on college campuses across the nation, and Lila Rose of Live Action, whose undercover video work has forced the abortion industry to confront and amend practices it cannot defend, as well as dozens of other future leaders who have assisted our organization as staff members and interns.
Not only does this young generation of pro-life women shun the notion that abortion somehow liberates women; it views abortion as the civil- and human-rights cause of our day. Abortion is an injustice that permeates our society. Forty years after Roe v. Wade, we realize that a third of our peers are not here to share our progress and our hopes. It is our loss as well as theirs.
Our fight transcends elections and legislative battles because our fight is in our hearts. This is why, 40 years after Roe, our movement is still growing. We won’t give up; we can’t give up. Our fight is for life.

Why ‘Time’ Magazine ‘Pro-Life’ Cover Might Be No Big Deal (8626)
Commentary

by PIA DE SOLENNI 01/14/2013

http://www.ncregister.com/daily-news/why-time-magazines-pro-life-cover-might-be-no-big-deal
For the conspiratorial mind, it might seem odd that Time magazine ran a cover story on how abortion advocates have been losing ever since their Roe v. Wade victory, legalizing abortion 40 years ago.
Framing the abortion movement as in decline is particularly interesting, since the story was published just days before Planned Parenthood released its annual report marking a record number of abortions: 333,964…..
Certainly, pro-life activists have made gains. Last year, 43 pro-life measures were passed in several states that create awareness about abortion and regulate abortion providers. Pregnancy-help centers and clinics now outnumber abortion clinics.
The efforts and gains of a growing and committed pro-life movement can’t be dismissed, but the context of the Time article might offer a different pulse on the state of the abortion movement in the U.S.
This year it’s especially hard to believe that abortion advocates have been losing since Roe. Abortion activists won the presidency, and they have a new Health and Human Services’ mandate in place that will force every large business and organization to cover every form of Food and Drug Administration-approved contraception and abortifacient, regardless of the values of the employer offering the plans. The only thing that kept the Affordable Care Act from including abortion as well was a paper-thin executive order declaring that abortion cannot be considered an essential health-care benefit.
There are more than a million abortions in the United States every year. It’s hard to see how that’s a sign of defeat.
Fewer and fewer people think that children are so precious that they should enjoy the benefits of parents married to each other, even though sociological data consistently shows this is the best arrangement for a child.
Since we’ve come to accept so many variations of family, many of which are demonstrably incomplete, I find it hard to maintain that we’re more pro-life and that we have a greater respect for human dignity. Yes, we can see the undeniable humanity of the unborn child; but many will not make decisions as if the best thing for that child is to be raised by two parents married to each other.
And, while as a nation we may be more ready than a generation ago to acknowledge the reality of human life in the womb, tragically, for most people, it’s still no big deal that we remain locked in the easy-abortion legal framework imposed two generations ago by the Supreme Court justices in their Roe decision.
Meanwhile, I don’t hear about nursing homes closing down because there are too many older people with families who want to take care of them at home. And let’s not forget the increase in public massacres of innocent victims.
I’ll believe we’re winning once I see a culture where individuals consistently live for others and not just for themselves.

40 Years After Roe V. Wade, Abortion Foes Are Winning — And Losing

Four decades after Roe v. Wade, the landmark Supreme Court ruling that legalized abortion, many opponents of the decision are in a celebratory mood while those backing abortion rights are glum, feeling that momentum is turning decisively against them.
Yet in reality, little has changed in the fiercest and most protracted battle of the nation’s bitter culture war………..
Moreover, the abortion rights movement is facing a generational divide, as younger women try to take the reins from aging leaders who they see as tone deaf to the public’s more nuanced views on abortion. Indeed, the “pro-choice” label is losing its luster while a growing number of young people like to identify themselves as “pro-life.”……
“Of course Time magazine is right. It is axiomatic, it is the story of our times, it is the thing every pro-lifer knows: We’re winning this battle,” Tom Hoopes, a professor of communications at Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas, wrote at the blog of CatholicVote.org…….
In fact, surveys show that public opinion on abortion rights has barely budged in years, as a slight majority of Americans consistently want to keep abortion legal in most or all cases while about 40 percent would like to see abortion outlawed in most or all cases. According to the latest research from the Pew Forum on Religion & Public Life, an even larger majority wants to keep the Roe v. Wade decision intact………
Moreover, so-called “personhood amendments” that seek to leapfrog Roe and ban all abortions by declaring that a fetus is a person from the moment of conception have failed every time they have gone to the voters……..
“We are a long way from a national consensus that could be reasonably and honestly described as pro-life,” said R. Albert Mohler Jr., president of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. “Even reversing Roe v. Wade will not be enough.”……
“Pro-abortion activists are losing? Really? If you believe that, I’ve got a bridge to sell you. Cheap,” said Pia de Solenni, who wrote a column at the National Catholic Register telling abortion foes not to believe the hype……..

More then ever we need the church to take a stand…..
Imagine what could be accomplished if the only the church from pulpits across the country would have the courage and will to teach and preach and educate the people in the pews from the pulpit on these issues on a regular basis……!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

UN Agenda 21 – What’s the fuss?
“UN Agenda 21/Sustainable Development is the action plan implemented worldwide
to inventory and control all land, all water, all minerals, all plants, all animals, all construction,
all means of production, all energy, all education, all information, and all human beings in the world.

INVENTORY AND CONTROL.’
“Have you wondered where these terms ‘sustainability’ and ‘smart growth’ and ‘high density urban mixed use development’ came from? Doesn’t it seem like about 10 years ago you had never heard of them and now everything seems to include these concepts?

Is that just a coincidence? That every town and county and state and nation in the world would be changing their land use/planning codes and governmental policies to align themselves with…what?”
“Far from being a ‘conspiracy theory’ or a ‘tin-foil hat’ fantasy, this is an actual United Nations plan, signed onto in 1992 by President George H.W. Bush along with 178 other world leaders. The UN called it Agenda 21 because it is the Agenda for the 21st Century.”

Education in Oklahoma ain’t What You Thinks

Superintendent Barresi’s Choice of Dr. Marzano, Architect of Texas CSCOPE
by Linda Murphy on Monday, March 11, 2013 at 9:29pm •

An education earthquake is erupting in Texas over a curriculum and delivery system called CSCOPE and it is sending ripples across the country. Some of the same progressive leftist education “experts” behind CSCOPE in Texas have been to many other states including Oklahoma. Dr. Robert Marzano is one of the architects of the CSCOPE system. Marzano’s Causal Teacher Evaluation Model has been selected by Oklahoma’s elected State Superintendent Barresi and the Oklahoma State Department of Education.

From Marzano’s website: “Dr. Robert Marzano’s Teacher Evaluation Model Alignment to Oklahoma’s Criteria for Effective Teaching The Oklahoma State Department of Education has adopted a set of state-wide teaching standards titled Oklahoma’s Criteria for Effective Teaching. Oklahoma’s Criteria for Effective Teaching outlines teaching standards for all classroom teachers in the state of Oklahoma. The goal of this new set of teaching standards is to help Oklahoma educators improve their practice by focusing on important factors such as classroom management, instruction, planning and student achievement.”

Through an underground network of educators and allies the philosophical left has created what was a well concealed system in Texas called CSCOPE. By sending lessons directly to students sitting at computers the extreme curriculum has been training children without approval of the State School Board and out of compliance with the approved state academic standards. No textbooks exist so parents could not see what was being taught and teachers had no control over the curriculum. They could only administer or monitor the system after signing a pledge to secrecy.

Now Texans are experiencing an upheaval of the computerized system delivering curriculum to students in 75% -85% of their schools. State Representative Dan Patrick and others are investigating and revealing the Socialist, Anti-American, Anti-Captialism, Victimization, Race Dividing Philosophy and Ecumenical Humanistic Beliefs driving the system. Parents and teachers are exposing and putting the brakes on the agenda from the Education Leftist/Progressives.

The social change propaganda and the low level academic drills have been creating distress and confusion
in students, while little by little parents became aware that something is wrong. Simultaneously many teachers just couldn’t take having their hands tied while watching students struggle with the ridiculous process and knowing the students aren’t being well educated.

Educator, Dr. Hartzler, compared CSCOPE’s academic content to something that has been shot full of holes and taped back up with duct tape with much of it missing. This curriculum will not educate students because it is focused on social change not on academic skills. It will not and can not produce academic excellence.

Oklahomans will remember we put the brakes on the radical OBE, Outcomes Based Education in our state law in 1995. OBE’s designer, Dr. Bill Spady came out of Colorado as an “expert” to train Oklahoma Educators in the same philsophy that is being secretly piped into Texas schools through CSCOPE. CSCOPE is OBE repacked, relabeled and resold.

Texans worked hard for several years to fill their State School Board with members elected by the public following their battles with OBE. Their State Textbooks were carefully examined and changes were made to put strong, factual academics in place. Dr. Bill Ames wrote a book about his experience of battling the left’s agenda while working with the Texas School Board to establish traditional academic standards based on facts about American History. His book “How Texas Trounced the Left’s War on History” rightly claims the victory for the public. (–See Dr. Ames’ recent testimony before his local school board in my recent FB post)

Texas officially rejected Federal Government control of education and the National Common Core standards. Texans have been pleased to be “building their own education system” but they now know it has been hi-jacked by education elitists running the Texas Education Service Centers (ESCs) who developed and deliver CSCOPE. These elitists put Texas on the very track the Federal Common Core bureaucrats are “trying” to build inspite of the decisions of officials. The Federal Common Core bureaucrats liked CSCOPE so much that they even tried to purchase it from the Texas ESCs.

I recently watched a PBS “documentary” supporting the left and lamenting their loss in the fight to have control of Texas textbook curriculum because of the elected school board. The left is well funded through public dollars, private foundations and corporations as you will find if you follow the money trail in education reform. State legislators, state school boards, parents and teachers across the country need to look closely at what their own states are “really” putting in place.

I urge Oklahomans once again to look very carefully at where our State Superintendent is leading our education system. The philsophy and methods of Dr. Marzano and his co-horts will make radical changes to education unless they are stopped. Their education model will not provide the academic education we desire and their worldview philosophy will prove harmful to our children, teachers, parents, communities and nation. On top of all of that it is also extremely expensive.

A very important related issue is a current legislative proposal to take away our right to vote for our State Superintendent. That right is written in our State Constitution and belongs to the citizens statewide. There is a voice for everyone to have a choice in the election. When the State Superintendent is off the track we can elect someone else to put education back on the right track. Parental Choice is a word being used in many education programs for various purposes but there isn’t any Parental Choice as important as electing the State Superintendent and our Local School Boards. These are Parental Choices we already have. We must not go to sleep on this issue and loose our right to vote!
